Many have played the game, some have played years beyond adolescence and at some point the cycle begins again with our own children. As parent and coaches we strive to give our children everything we were taught and then some. What we have come to realize is there is more than just our own children, there is a desire to see a group of children succeed together and become a TEAM. This is the very nature of our persistence to become better coaches, to see kids play the game and become successful in understanding the full spectrum of the game.
We as coaches have come to the realization that for our kids to become a functional unit, they must play together and learn to trust, first themselves, then their coaches and also their teammates. They need to be successful at their level. Competition at these levels, builds the very backbone by which these children will be judged on and off the field, we call it character.
Character is defined as- the moral makeup of a person.
As coaches, we have a responsibility to these children. However, it does not stop with us. We believe that the parent or parents must reinforce what is being taught as you have a large role in your child's success.
The Delsea A's organization will be taking part in the Tri-State Elite league AKA T.S.E. This league brings vast amounts of opportunity for our teams to be challenged, bringing value to wins and losses, learning what they did right to gain the win and what they did wrong to deserve the loss. We can only grow by being called to rise and play at new levels as coaches and as players and most of all as a team.
Developing skills, talent, and character will be a challenge but through some of the latest drills, techniques, and hard practices we will move forward into 2011 with a fresh look and a determination to be better.
Sincerely,
Delsea A's coaching staff..
